Paul George, 24, who plays the small forward and shooting guard positions for the Indiana Pacers, suffered a compound fracture of both bones in his lower right leg during off-season while trying out for the national team to be then sent to compete at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain. During a scrimmage game, he landed awkwardly at the base of a basket stanchion. He underwent surgery and had to be hospitalized for about three days.
