Netflix Gives the Green-Light to 'Montauk', a New Supernatural Series from the Duffer Brothers
Netflix has given the green-light for the production of Montauk, a 1980s drama series written and to be directed by young filmmakers Matt and Ross Duffer who will also executive produce the project with Shawn Levy. The streaming service has ordered eight hour-long episodes set to premiere in 2016.

Luke Grimes, 31, recently seen this year in the hit films Fifty Shades of Grey and American Sniper, now joins Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke Chris Pratt, Vincent D'Onofrio and Haley Bennett in the cast of director Antoine Fuqua's remake of the 1960 classic western The Magnificent Seven by John Sturges which then starred Yul Brynner, Eli Wallach, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaughn, James Coburn, Brad Dexter and Horst Buchholz.Read more

20th Century Fox and MGM have released yet another teaser for their upcoming Poltergeist remake which is scheduled to hit US theaters in 3D on July 24. This time, as Movie Web puts it, they're ramping up the scares, and offering a bit of fan service as they recall the best moments from the 1982 original, notably the scenes featuring the monster tree, the evil clown, the bathroom face mutilation scene, and of course the infamous television set abduction of the family's youngest daughter.Read more

Starz has just released a first-look video teaser and promo poster [via IGN] for the 10-episode first season of Ash vs. Evil Dead, which is tentatively set for a late 2015 premiere. The studio's plot outline for the upcoming TV series reads: “Campbell reprises his role as Ash, the aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. Disney is in the process of developing another live-action retelling of its own animated classics, this time of the animated children's favorite, Winnie-the-Pooh, according to Deadline. The focus will be on an adult Christopher Robin, the owner of the anthropomorphic teddy bear. Brigham Taylor is producing and Alex Ross Perry has been hired to write the live-action adaptation for the big-screen.Read more

MTV has announced Thursday that Robert Downey Jr. will be receiving the “MTV Generation Award” during the 2015 MTV Movie Awards from his Avengers: Age of Ultron co-star Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner. Thanks to Just Jared, the first set photos of Ryan Reynolds in his Wade Wilson pre-Deadpool character have just been released to the Internet. In the still pics, the 38-year-old actor is seen wearing a hood, the rest of his body also totally covered up, and it looks like he might have some prosthetic make-up on his face, indicating that these scenes take place after Wade is experimented on and left severely disfigured. The 33 photos from the location shooting in a dirty alley behind a strip club in the early morning hours of Thursday (April 2) in Vancouver include of those with co-stars Ed Skrein, Gina Carano and Morena Baccarin.Read more

The poem about "Lucy and Little foot sitting in the cave..." might actually be true after all. New dating techniques and some careful research has revealed that the Little Foot might have actually existed in history, reports CS Monitor. A team of researchers have used some new dating techniques and tried to estimate the age of Little Foot which is a South African fossil specimen and its age has been debated for over 20 years now. 3.67 million years old, this fossil could been on the Earth at the time of Australopithecus afarensis, that includes the famous Lucy, from the poem.Read more

In a video released April 1st, Extra TV's host Mario Lopez, asked title star Ryan Reynolds to confirm whether the upcoming Deadpool movie will be rated PG-13 or R. The interview however was cut short, when Deadpool himself arrived, knocked out Lopez from behind for advocating for the PG-13 rating, and saying, “It’s okay Jesse, Slater can’t hurt you anymore,” a reference to Lopez’s Saved By The Bell days. Reynolds' voice over is next heard saying, “April Fools'! Deadpool will of course be rated R.”Read more
