Microsoft Files Trademark Application For "Forzatech"
Microsoft on April 2 filed a trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for something called ‘Forzatech,’ described only as a “game software.”

Sledgehammer Games and Activision have announced that four new pieces of gear have now been added to the 'Advanced Supply Drops' for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Windows 10 has yet to ship out this summer, but Microsoft is reportedly already working on its next planned major update for the operating system. Codenamed “Redstone,” Neowin says the update will come in two waves, the first wave is targeted to arrive in June of 2016 and the second wave is scheduled for October of the same year.Read more

On March 31, Mozilla released the latest version of Firefox, 37.0 which introduces a new feature that can cryptographically protect connections even when servers don't support the HTTPS protocol. Dubbed “opportunistic encryption,” it acts as a bridge between plaintext HTTP connections and fully compliant HTTPS connections based on transport layer security or its predecessor, protocol secure sockets layer. But on April 3, Mozilla released Firefox 37.01, a minor maintenance release of the browser that disables the “opportunistic encryption” as a result of a vulnerability related to certificate verification.Read more

On March 31, 2K Sports deactivated the servers for all editions of NBA 2K14, following which previously created save files in the MyCareer and MyGM modes can no longer pass a built-in server check on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, meaning those files are now simply unusable, and all the single player progress records have effectively been lost.Read more

The FBI in a public service announcement (PSA) released Tuesday is advising people responsible for WordPress websites to be on the lookout for attacks carried out by individuals sympathetic to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Shams terrorist group, which is also known as the Islamic State in the Levant (ISIL), according to Ars Technica. “Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities could result in an attacker gaining unauthorized access, bypassing security restrictions, injecting scripts, and stealing cookies from computer systems or network servers,” the PSA says. “An attacker could install malicious software; manipulate data; or create new accounts with full user privileges for future Web site exploitation.”Read more

The ultimate show reboot is here! The Muppets are coming back to the small screen and nostalgia could not get any better. ABC has greenlighted a reboot of The Muppet Show, tentatively titled as Muppets 2015, wherein the co-creator of The Big Bang Theory, Bill Prady will be the producing and co-writing the show with Bob Kushell, Entertainment Weekly reports. Kushell is known for his works such as Anger Management, American Dad and The Simpsons. They will be joined by Randall Einhorn, who will also executive produce and will serve as a director for the pilot presentation.Read more
