"The Vampire Diaries" might be over but that hasn't stopped fans from hoping to see Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley reunited on the small screen. There have been speculations that the rumored new couple will both appear in "The Originals" Season 4 finale this Friday. However, some believe that Dobrev and Wesley declined to appear in "The Feast of All Sinners" for one very particular reason. Are they trying to avoid having to face Wesley's ex-girlfriend Phoebe Tonkin, who plays Hayley in the CW series?
Fans have long speculated on the possibility that Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley are currently in a relationship following his break-up with Phoebe Tonkin. When E! Online reported on the "TVD" actor's split from the star of "The Originals", it was hinted that the two have remained friends. However, some believe that Wesley has no interest in making an appearance as Stefan Salvatore in "The Originals" Season 4 finale because he wants to avoid seeing Tonkin on the set. Is it possible that he and Dobrev are not on good terms with the actress?
Both Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley have appeared in "The Originals" before. The "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" star has portrayed a Petrova doppelganger on the series while the "TVD" actor played Stefan in one episode last season. There has been hope that both actors will have a cameo in "The Originals" Season 4 finale but there is a possibility that Dobrev and Wesley declined to avoid any contact with Phoebe Tonkin.
An appearance from Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley in "The Originals" might certainly be a welcome idea for fans but it would also seem out of line with the current season's storyline. However, there is still hope that some of the stars of "The Vampire Diaries" will return in the show's future season. In the meantime, Phoebe Tonkin will appear as Hayley in "The Originals" Season 4 finale titled "The Feast of All Sinners", which airs on The CW on June 23.
