"Gotham" has received general positive reviews since it premiered on Fox in September 2014 with its stunning visuals and pop-inflected aesthetic being praised the most. Season 3 finale has delivered explosives but fans were looking for something that was promised in the past - to unveil Harley Quinn. Well, she wasn't actually in the episode finale but not seeing her physically doesn't necessarily mean that she wasn't actually there. Here are the theories that fans have come up.
According to CarterMatt, "Gotham" producers have previously said that Harley is not making a comeback to the show with anything physical. However, using the word "proto," means that fans would see a version of her character. So, this could simply mean that she was actually in the finale. How did it happen then?
Erin Richards, who plays Barbara Kean on "Gotham" previously sat in with Cinema Blend to discuss about Harley Quinn and the possibility of her character becoming Harley is anything but high. "I think something major would have to happen to Barbara for her to fully become Harley Quinn," Richards said. It can be recalled that her character was electrocuted during the season finale, which sparks speculations that Barbara might have transformed into Harley.
Another theory would be Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) is returning in "Gotham" season 4. A fan noticed her scarf and color pattern that was created on her home's wall, which could be a clue that she becomes Harley. Fans can remember that she was infected with the infamous Alice Tetch virus.
Some fans suggest that the little girl that Bruce saved during "Gotham" season 3 finale could be Harley as she has a slight resemblance when Joker's other half was still younger. Others also speculate that Harley was one of those people that Bruce also saved. Nonetheless, the mystery will hopefully be solved comes the next installment.
What are your thoughts on these "Gotham" theories about Harley Quinn? Is it the little girl, Barbara or Leslie? Share us your thoughts below!
