Fans who have been watching all three season of "The Fall" are undoubtedly still in shock over the death of Paul Spector, especially because this would mean that the show has ended. But is it possible that "The Fall" Series 4 is still happening without Jamie Dornan? It looks like Stella Gibson's story is far from over and Gillian Anderson is expected to start filming for the show as soon as she finishes "The X-Files" Season 11.
It's hard to imagine how "The Fall" Series 4 could possibly go on without Jamie Dornan. After all, the BBC Two show has been all about Stella Gibson's struggle to take down the serial killer Paul Spector. Unfortunately, the season finale of the third series finally saw the Belfast Strangler hanging himself, marking the end for Operation Musicman and sending Gibson back to London. Nevertheless, there is still hope that Gillian Anderson will be back for "The Fall" Series 4. However, Gibson will have to wait until Dana Scully finishes solving more paranormal cases in "The X-Files" Season 11.
Allan Cubitt has spoken to Digital Spy about Jamie Dornan's unfortunate departure but also teased on the possibility of "The Fall" Series 4. In fact, the show creator already has some ideas on how to continue with Stella Gibson's story now that she has defeated Paul Spector. "I do have some thoughts, but I'm quite keen on doing other things as well, so it's not going to be straight away," Cubitt stated. He isn't the only one who will be very busy this year. Gillian Anderson is set to begin filming "The X-Files" Season 11, which means that the thriller will not return to BBC Two until after 2018.
It certainly won't be the same without Jamie Dornan but there is little doubt that Stella Gibson will find a new nemesis after Paul Spector in "The Fall" Series 4. In the meantime, Anderson appears in "American Gods" as the always entertaining Media and is set to begin filming for "The X-Files" Season 11 this month.
