Kōhei Horikoshi's "My Hero Academia" manga continues with the heroes' mission to save Eri in an attempt to stop the Eight Precepts of Death from producing more Trigger serum. It can be recalled in the previous chapters that the heroes tried to break into Overhaul's headquarters, where Eri was located. The drug is being produced using Eri's body and can either boost someone's Trigger to the max level or have it totally disabled. However, despite the heroes' determination to rescue Overhaul's daughter, it seems that they encounter some difficulties as they attempt to save the girl.
Warning. This article contains spoilers of "My Hero Academia" chapter 138. Proceed at your own risk.
In the previous chapter of "My Hero Academia," it can be recalled that Sir Nighteye beckoned the aspiring heroes alongside the Big Heroes, revealing Overhaul's plans on the illegal drug. Celebeat reports that Izuku, Tsuyu, Ocachi and Eijiro struggled to keep this information to themselves to keep Eri safe. In chapter 138, the heroes had the cops in line to secure the barricade in Overhaul's headquarters as each of them has their own task. They only have to get inside the headquarters to search for the Trigger serum and take Eri with them.
"My Hero Academia" chapter 138 also reveals Ryukyu's quirk that turned to be able to transform into a dragon. Everyone knows that Ryukyu is one of the Big Heroes and he managed to prevent one of the Eight Precepts of Death's attacks when they arrived at Overhaul's headquarters. As posted on Read Manga, the heroes made sure that they know the quirks of the members of the Eight Precepts of Death to ensure that they know how to deal with them.
Apparently, fans were surprised upon learning in "My Hero Academia" chapter 138 that Overhaul was well aware of the heroes' mission and smoothly escaped. In a thread on Reddit, fans believe that one of the heroes is a traitor, the one who didn't show up. It was also revealed that the Eight Precepts of Death were actually hiding in an attempt to give the heroes surprise attacks.
Unfortunately, "My Hero Academia" chapter 138 reveals that the heroes' mission was at risk. The member of the Eight Precepts of Death who first attacked them is yet to be identified in the next chapter. There will be more explosives to happen soon. Stay tuned!
