“Steven Universe” season 5 is set to launch next week and viewers are already anticipating for an epic comeback of the much-loved Cartoon Network animated television series. However, while many are expectedly excited to see more episodes of the hit show, some are worried that this could be the last and final installment.
After "Steven Universe" season 4 ended, nothing much was said about the animated television series. So when Cartoon Network finally revealed that "Steven Universe" season 5 will premiere on May 29, fans were excited with the news until also ready themselves that it may not be all rainbows and butterflies this season. Den Of Geek revealed that "Steven Universe" season 5 will have four episodes such as "Stuck Together," "The Trial," "Off Colors" and "Lars' Head."
"Steven Universe" may still be considered as a fresh show but rumor has it that Cartoon Network may already be close to ending the hit show. Series creator Rebecca Sugar has previously revealed in an interview that she was planning something big for “Steven Universe” season 5. Many took this update as something that may spell more bad news than good for the CN animated series.
"I have big plans for that season!" Rebecca Sugar told NewsaRama. "Endgame or not I'm shooting for the moon, I'm going to write us into a serious corner!" Despite the rumors of the show ending soon, the creator's last statement gave fans hope that there may still be a chance for more seasons since she didn't confirm the end of it yet. Writer Lamar Abrams then noted that the fate of the show is in Sugar's hands. "I’ll draw as long as Rebecca wants me to," he said.
