Ian Somerhalder Not Getting New Projects After ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ Nikki Reed’s Husband May Still Need Nina Dobrev For Career Boost

While his fellow “The Vampire Diaries” co-stars have no problem finding new jobs, it seems like Ian Somerhalder is not getting any luck. Although The CW drama has definitely boosted up his career, Nikki Reed's husband was catapulted to stardom after taking his romance with “TVD” co-star, Nina Dobrev, from on-screen to off-screen. However, their romance did not last as everyone have hoped for.

Unfortunately for Ian Somerhalder, his failed relationship with Nina Dobrev seemingly affected his career. Celeb Dirty Laundry claims that Nikki Reed’s husband has no new projects lined up after “The Vampire Diaries” wrapped up back in March of this year.

While his ex Nina Dobrev is getting a lot of projects like a new movie with Vin Diesel, “xXx: Return of Xander Cage,” and expanding her brand from actress to model for Reebok and Donna Karan New York. Ian Somerhalder’s career, on the other hand, suddenly came to a screeching halt during the time when he needed it the most.

The 38-year-old actor, model, and director just recently revealed that he and his wife, Nikki Reed, are expecting their very first baby. “The Vampire Diaries” star and Nikki Reed announced the exciting news by posting the same photo on social media, where the actor will be seen kissing the “Twilight” actress’ growing baby bump.

“This has been the most special time of our lives and we wanted to keep it between the three of us for as long as possible so we could enjoy this time with each other and our little one who is growing so fast,” a part of Ian Somerhalder’s sweet and lengthy Instagram caption read.
