Katy Perry was a guest star on Carpool Karaoke with James Corden earlier this week and the 32-year-old singer and songwriter spilled details about her ongoing feud with Taylor Swift. The ex-friends have been avoiding the topic for quite a long time but it seems like the “Teenage Dream” hitmaker is now ready to open up about it and just be done with it.
“Honestly, it’s really like, she started it and it’s time for her to finish it,” Katy Perry told James Corden during her segment of Carpool Karaoke. “And I tried to talk to [Taylor] about it and she wouldn’t speak to me.”
The “Last Friday Night” singer then told the comedian that Taylor Swift totally shut everything down then suddenly wrote a song about her and their major beef. “I’m like, ‘Okay, cool. Cool. That’s how you want to deal with it? Karma,’” Katy Perry said.
There were a lot of speculations about how their feud really started. Katy Perry finally confirmed everyone’s suspicions that it was indeed about the “Wide Awake” star allegedly stealing Taylor Swift’s backup dancers. The 27-year-old singer and songwriter eventually fired her dancers and by 2014 she released “Bad Blood.” As expected, the song became a massive hit and many were convinced that it was about her strained friendship with Perry.
When James Corden asked Orlando Brown’s ex-girlfriend if she will answer Taylor Swift’s call on FaceTime, Katy Perry responded “Absolutely!” with no hesitations. "By the way, I am ready because I think when women unite, the world is going to heal," she added.
