"Quantico" Season 3 will be a "reset" of the ABC drama, says exiting showrunner Josh Safran, according to Carter Matt. In a recent interview, Safran explained that the first two seasons of the show were different.
Safran shared that season one was all about Alex's life in college while season two has seen her in grad school. "Quantico" Season 3, therefore, will be a "bit of a reset" given that Alex is on the run and the team could no longer return to their post.
"It's also a unique place to pick everybody up, and [see] why they would come back together," he shared.
Safran also told The Hollywood Reporter that his exit from "Quantico" Season 3 meant that he will no longer have any involvement in the show's upcoming season. Safran said that when he signed on to do the show, his deal was only good for two years.
Safran expressed confidence that the new showrunner will lead "Quantico" Season 3 in a better place. The exiting showrunner also explained that the season two finale was crafted in a way that it could function both as a season finale and a series ender.
As most fans can recall, the fate of "Quantico" Season 3 was up in the air because it experienced a drastic drop in ratings. It is believed, however, that the third season will be the series ender because of the episode cut.
