Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Robert Aguirre-Sacasa explained that revenge will be the theme for Archie next season following the incident involving his father, Fred.
This means that Archie will do whatever it takes to find out who shot Fred on "Riverdale" Season 2. The showrunner teased that viewers will see a darker version of Archie in the upcoming season and this may ultimately put his relationship with Veronica to the test.
Veronica, however, will continue to stick around Archie on "Riverdale" Season 2, but their relationship will get more complicated because of Veronica's father, Hiram. According to the executive producer, The CW drama is trying to stay true to the comics and most fans are very much aware of the fact that Hiram is not really fond of Archie as his daughter's boyfriend.
TVGuide.com also shared that there will be new love interests for some characters, including Reggie and Kevin. "Riverdale" Season 2 will also see Betty and Jughead's relationship become stronger.
