"Supernatural" Season 12 finale entitled "All Along The Watchtower" has taken the lives of two characters - Castiel and Crowley, reports Comicbook.com. Crowley decided to end his life in order to defeat Lucifer using an angel blade, which seemed rather permanent and leaves no chance for the character to return.
On the other hand, Castiel was able to make it back after being in an alternate reality for a while. However, Lucifer came at the last few moments and stabbed Castiel with an angel blade on "Supernatural" Season 12 finale.
Given that both characters were stabbed with an angel blade on "Supernatural" Season 12, this made a lot of fans worry that there is no chance for either of the two to return to The CW drama. However, a recent interview with Misha Collins seemingly suggests that there may be something else cooking for the characters.
"We're just left with sort of a whole new universe of possibilities for the show, which is pretty cool from a storytelling perspective," Collins told CinemaBlend.
This led to speculations that Collins' Castiel may star in a "Supernatural" spinoff, as many shows are already doing spinoffs based on hit TV series. It remains to be seen how Castiel may survive the stab from the angel blade given its permanent effects.
Do you think Misha Collins' Castiel should star in a spinoff series or should his character return to "Supernatural" Season 13? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
