The second season of "Blindspot" has concluded with the FBI finally capturing Shepherd and finding out what Phase 2 was all about. Jeller shippers also got exactly what they were hoping for as Jane Doe returned Kurt Weller's "I love you." But what exactly happened to Roman in "Lepers Repel"? Luke Mitchell may have hinted on the possibility that Jane's brother is set for greater things in "Blindspot" Season 3. Could Roman end up being the new main villain in the NBC series?
In the "Blindspot" Season 2 finale, Jane Doe and Roman had yet another dangerous encounter as he tried to prevent his sister and Kurt Weller from stopping Sandstorm's plans, as per Entertainment Weekly. Although it was clear that Roman would do anything to help Shepherd, Jane simply couldn't bring herself to shoot her own brother. Needless to say, Roman escaped in "Lepers Repel" and it is possible that fans haven't seen the last of Luke Mitchell. The Australian actor may have teased that Roman could be the new villain in "Blindspot" Season 3.
Luke Mitchell has recently spoken to Collider about the "Blindspot" Season 2 finale, offering some hints on how the NBC series will conclude. In doing so, Mitchell revealed that the relationship between Roman and Jane Doe will be very troubled. "Whatever bond they had, it will be interesting to see, beyond Roman’s action, whether there’s any bond left or not, and if that will be severed," the actor said. Could this mean that Jane's brother will take over Sandstorm and lead the fight against the FBI in "Blindspot" Season 3?
It is still unclear what will happen to Roman when the series returns later this year. Hopefully, fans can expect to see more of Luke Mitchell since his portrayal of Jane Doe's troubled brother has been one of the highlights of the second season. There is no word yet on when "Blindspot" Season 3 will premiere. Keep checking CeleBeat for all the latest updates on your favorite TV shows.
