'Rick and Morty' Season 3 Episode 2 Air Date: 'Rickmancing the Stone' Episode to Air on May 20?

There have been reports that "Rick and Morty" season 3 episode 2 is expected to air in summer but creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have been tight-lipped about the details of the upcoming episode. It can be recalled that the creators surprised all fans when the critically acclaimed animated series aired unannounced on April 1. Most fans thought that it was only an April Fool's joke but it turned out to be real. Now, recent reports claim that the next episode is scheduled to air on May 20 following the previous report that it will air last May 13.

MStarsNews reports that IMDB posted a May 13 air date of "Rick and Morty" season 3 episode 2 and even included its synopsis. "Rick confronts Morty about some of the problems they are dealing with," reads the "Rickmancing the Stone" episode synopsis. It certainly sounded real but it was never aired on the said air date and once again, fans were heartbroken. There have been reports that the next episode will air sometime between June and August, although the creators were never specific with the details.

On the plus side, Adult Swim's official website revealed a May 20 air date of "Rick and Morty" season 3 episode 2 although it did not include which site the episode will air. "Next Showing: May 20 at 9 PM," reads the description. This thrills a lot of fans given the fact that the showrunners are known for surprising all fans especially that the series offers an unconventional plot.

Meanwhile, earlier reports from Celebeat suggest that "Rick and Morty" season 3 episode 2, which is titled "Rickmancing the Stone" is based on a popular 1984 action film titled "Romancing the Stone." It is also said that all episode titles of the third season are all inspired from famous movies. It can be recalled that the title for episode 1 is "The Rickshank Redemption" that derived from the famous movie, "The Shawshank Redemption."
