Charlie Hunnam has already played an innocent twink, a reckless biker, a Jaeger pilot and a moody monarch. But is it possible that the "Sons of Anarchy" star will eventually become the new James Bond? Hunnam has recently offered two reasons why he would be an excellent replacement for Daniel Craig in "James Bond 25". Could the "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" actor possibly be the next 007? Will Jax Teller trade in his bike for an Aston Martin in the future?
It seems like any able-bodied actor is being nominated for the role of James Bond ever since Daniel Craig stated that he wants to leave the role behind. Common names being tossed around by bookers have usually been Tom Hardy, Michael Fassbender, Aidan Turner, Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba. However, it looks like Charlie Hunnam has his own supporters when it comes to taking over in "James Bond 25". Well, at least enough for Conan O'Brien to ask him if he has considered taking on the iconic role of the legendary spy.
Charlie Hunnam was recently a guest on "Conan" and the conversation naturally shifted to the possibility that the "King Arthur" star will be the next James Bond. Hunnam gamely offered two reasons why he would be an ideal replacement for Daniel Craig: "I'm English and I look devilishly handsome in a suit."
Sure, that sounds promising, but Charlie Hunnam had something to add about the 007 speculations. "Nobody has called me about playing James Bond, so I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen," the "Sons of Anarchy" star concluded, as per Digital Spy. Unfortunately, it sounds like the search for Daniel Craig's replacement in "James Bond 25" continues.
Not surprisingly, Charlie Hunnam's recent comment about James Bond speculations hasn't helped his odds at all. According to The Sun, Tom Hardy is still the top choice for the new 007 while Michael Fassbender and Aidan Turner are tied at 3/1. Tom Hiddleston's odds have certainly gotten better at 7/1.
