Song Joong Ki is undoubtedly one of the most in-demand South Korean actors right now following the huge success of his 2016 drama "Descendants of the Sun." Now, a new report revealed that Park Bo Gum's pal is going to star in a series despite earlier reports noted that he was ready to take a break to focus on his personal life.
I Love K Stars reports that Song Joong Ki is going to appear again in a drama after "Descendants of the Sun" wrapped up. The 31-year-old actor is said to be set to join the cast of JTBC drama "Man to Man" in its 9th episode which will air next week.
The "Man to Man" official confirmed in an interview that Song Joong Ki will in fact appear on the show, saying that "The cameo appearance was made possible because of my connection with the writer Kim Won Seok of The Descendants of the Sun."
Although the new update is quite exciting, many are left confused as the actor has previously shared that he is planning to take a break from the spotlight. “I’ve always spent my life as if I was pressed for time ever since I debuted, [with the mindset of] taking on another production as soon as I finished one,” Song Joong Ki shared to W Korea magazine, as per Soompi.
The "Descendants of the Sun" actor then revealed that he has been taking breaks every after project to focus on more important things, other than his career. “That’s why, this year I’ve briefly stepped away from work and want to try and spend some time just as Song Joong Ki in his thirties,” he said.
Meanwhile, fans are convinced that Song Joong Ki and his "Descendants of the Sun" co-star Song Hye Kyo have already taken their working relationship to the next level. With the actor saying that he wanted to focus on his personal life, many took it as a hint that he's ready to take his on-screen romance with the 35-year-old actress to off-screen.
