The "Outlander" Season 3 trailer was recently released online, which offered a lot of interesting sneak peeks for next season. While the central theme of the Starz drama is Jamie and Claire's reunion 20 years after separating from each other, many fans are puzzled about one particular scene in the teaser.
In the said trailer of "Outlander" Season 3, Jamie can be seen hugging someone whose identity has not been shown or made known. As Carter Matt notes, this is stirring up a lot of theories and speculations from the show's legion of fans.
One of the most popular theories is that Jamie was hugging Laoghaire's daughter, Marsali in "Outlander" Season 3. Another theory is that it is Jamie's illegitimate son, William.
While both theories on "Outlander" Season 3 seem quite interesting and plausible given that some fans have read Diana Gabaldon's book, the author has reportedly squashed both theories. This led others to speculate on other characters such as young Ian or Maggie.
Whichever character this is, many fans are surely looking forward to this revelation on "Outlander" Season 3, which premieres in September. New characters will also be introduced in the upcoming season, reports Daily Record.
For instance, the Dunsany sisters Geneva and Isobel will be played by Hannah James and Tanya Reynolds, respectively, in "Outlander" Season 3. Lauren Lyle, on the other hand, will play as Marsali.
