Savitar has finally been unmasked in "The Flash" Season 3 Episode 20 and the truth was certainly shocking for most viewers. However, some fans believe that the villain's identity was already hinted on in the season premiere. Did Eobard Thawne know that Barry Allen would eventually become Savitar when he made an appearance in "Flashpoint"? Was Reverse-Flash actually trying to prevent Barry from becoming the bad guy who would ruin his own future?
In "I Know Who You Are", Barry Allen finally discovered the truth about Savitar. The villain who has been terrorizing him since he fixed the timeline has been an older (and significantly scarred) Barry Allen from the future. It was a shocking reveal that once again proved that Barry's greatest enemy is still himself. However, some believe that at least one character knew what would happen since the beginning of the show. Was Eobard Thawne aware that Barry would eventually become Savitar and had tried to stop him right from the start? Is Reverse-Flash actually just a good guy trying to prevent Barry from ruining everybody's future in "The Flash" Season 3?

Eobard Thawne has always been The Flash's nemesis, the one person who knows just about everything about Barry Allen. Unfortunately, Reverse-Flash has yet to offer more details about the future. In the meantime, it looks like Barry and the team have a dangerous plan to stop Savitar in "The Flash" Season 3 Episode 21. The promo for "Cause and Effect" reveals that Cisco will erase Barry's memories to keep the villain from predicting his next move, as seen on YouTube. However, it looks like future Barry has a counterplan.
The synopsis for "Cause and Effect" listed on The Futon Critic reveals that Killer Frost has "an interesting proposal" for Barry Allen and the team. Is it possible that Savitar is using her to get to Barry? Find out when "The Flash" Season 3 Episode 21 airs on The CW on May 9.
