It's finally happening. "The X-Files" has been renewed for yet another season with Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, so fans can look forward to the return to the series soon. But what can people look forward to in the ten new episodes of the Fox show? There are speculations that David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will go beyond playing the FBI agents in "The X-Files" Season 11. Could the "Twin Peaks" revival star and the "American Gods" actress also direct some of the episodes?
CeleBeat has previously reported that an announcement about "The X-Files" Season 11 could be made soon since the first 10 seasons of the series will be removed from Netflix. It certainly looks like Fox didn't waste any time in confirming the show's renewal. The follow-up to last year's revival is expected to be a part of the network's 2017-2018 roster so there is a possibility that it will premiere by early next year, as per The Hollywood Reporter. So is it possible that David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will do more than just play Mulder and Scully in the 11th season? Will they also direct some of the new episodes of the series?

The possibility of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson taking on the director's chair is not a new thing. After all, the star of the "Twin Peaks" revival has helmed three episodes in the past ("The Unnatural" from Season 6, "Hollywood A.D" from Season 7 and "William" in Season 9). Meanwhile, Anderson directed the episode "all things" from the seventh season. Is there any possibility that the real Mulder and Scully will direct one of the 10 new episodes of "The X-Files" Season 11?
Gillian Anderson might be too busy to direct new episodes since she still has to work on "American Gods" and "The Fall". However, there is a possibility that David Duchovny might take on the job in "The X-Files" Season 11. Keep checking CeleBeat for more updates on your favorite shows.
