The release date of George R. R. Martin's highly-anticipated "The Winds of Winter," which is the sixth novel in the fantasy epic series "A Song of Ice and Fire" remains unknown. However, there are already hints circulating online that it should be out this year. The infamous author has announced in January that he will release the book within this year but there were no further details following this announcement. Now, there are reports that the novel might be out before HBO's "Game of Thrones" season 7 premieres.
"The Winds of Winter" author also said that once the book has been completed as well as its delivery, he will certainly announce its publication. In his blog on Live Journal, Martin previously said that the book is still in development and believes that it should be released this year. However, what makes his announcement more interesting is that he said that he also thought the same thing last year, which disappoints a lot of fans.
Fans believe that "The Winds of Winter" will certainly take some time to be out in the wild when Martin also noted in his blog that he is occupied with another project. This project is said to be the film studio that he wants to launch as soon as possible. According to a report from Albuquerque Journal, the studio, which is located in Santa Fe, Mexico, will sit in a 30,000 square-foot non-profit building.
"The Winds of Winter" author's film studio will be available to film entrepreneurs and major Hollywood productions, which will boost his hometown's film economy. A source also said that Martin is already finishing a charity work and then will focus mainly on the novel. That said, some experts believe that if this is true, the book should be out in June, which is before "Game of Thrones" season 7's premiere date in July.
The highly-anticipated "The Winds of Winter" is said to resolve the cliffhangers from "A Dance with Dragons." Its plot would still be about the rivalry of the seven clans. Finally, the novel remains HBO's priority as a wild card, so fans should expect some explosives in the near future.
