There is little doubt that "Game of Thrones" Season 7 is one of the most anticipated shows this summer. After all, the previous season had been a truly exciting one for Jon Snow, who went from being Dead Lord Commander to Resurrected Non-Lord Commander to King in the North. But what's in store for the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen in the seventh season? The new photos from the HBO series may have confirmed that Samwell Tarly has discovered Jon is Azor Ahai.
Fans of the fantasy drama as well as the George R.R. Martin book series are already well aware of Azor Ahai, the messianic character who is set to save Westeros. Since Jon Snow has been resurrected by Melisandre, there have been theories that the new King in the North is the Promised One. But is it possible that Sam will be the first to realize the connection between the Messiah and the confirmed Secret Targaryen? The first images from "Game of Thrones" Season 7 shared by Making Game of Thrones seem to confirm that Sam is already looking into the identity of Azor Ahai at the Citadel.
The promo pictures for "Game of Thrones" Season 7 might only reveal the locations of the show's beloved characters, but that hasn't stopped people from speculating. The photo showing Sam at the Citadel has proven to be quite popular because it also shows Gilly reading a book about Azor Ahai (via io9). Some believe that the image actually features the two researching about the Lord of the Light's promised warrior, who could be none other than Jon Snow. However, that doesn't mean that the King in the North is the only contender for the title.

Jon Snow might be a strong candidate for Azor Ahai but there are fans who believe that the prophecy might also be referring to Daenerys Targaryen. After all, the Mother of Dragons got her new title when she famously rose from the ashes of Khal Drogo's funeral pyre in the show's first season finale. So who could it be? "Game of Thrones" Season 7 is air on HBO on July 16.
