The highly anticipated sixth volume of George RR Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire", "The Winds of Winter" was set for release even before the hit TV Series "Game of Thrones" Season 6. However, due to the untimely changes in the course, fans are still waiting for its release now that it has been rumored to be at the proofreading stage.
George RR Martin is still working on the novel and was also expected to finish even before the "Game of Thrones" Season 7 will be air on HBO, said on Fansided. Speculation suggests though that "The Winds of Winter" release will come together with the TV Series on July 2017, contrary to the previous reports.
The multi-awarded author that have to change the attitude of viewers on TV Series has been found to be busy. Aside from the speculation of "The Winds of Winter" proofreading stage, he was also spotted on a stagecoach project in his local home in New Mexico.
"Besides all that, there's been the enormous new Wild Cards deal, the Wild Cards revised, lots of stuff with HBO that I cannot talk about yet, and of course - always, always - "THE WINDS OF WINTER"," he wrote on his George RR Martin Blog.
The novelist further said in his post that there are still a lot to do. He expressed how much he loved his works, and as the days goes by quickly, the more he aims to have "The Winds of Winter" get released. He looks forward that things will calm down, and he will find time to relax.
Bottom line, the speculation remains that "Game of Thrones" Season 7 will be released first before "The Winds of Winter" be out for the public. The official statement still stands the Geroge R Martin still puts the sixth volume his priority.
A prequel of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" has also been online for fans to read, the book of "The Sons of the Dragon" with its first volume "The Book of Swords" by Gardner Dozois. The story centers the House Targaryen way before they came in Westeros. Fans will perhaps not push for the immediate release of "The Winds of Winter" in this case.
