In April 2016, HBO announced "Game of Thrones" season 7, which is set to air on July 16 featuring the same large cast ensemble such as Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey, Kit Harington, Peter Dinklage among others. Unlike the previous seasons, the forthcoming season is confirmed to only have a total of seven episodes from the usual ten episodes. Showrunners have explained that the number of episodes is shortened because there is a few story content remaining. The production values have also been increased and the larger set pieces require more time to film each episode.
With the shortened number of episodes, Metro believes that all "Game of Thrones" season 7 episodes will be jam-packed. The fantasy epic series usually kicks off in April but this time, the showrunners have to push the filming back as winter has come in the series. "Executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss felt that the storylines of the next season would be better served by starting production a little later than usual when the weather is changing," President of HBO Programming Casey Bloys explained.
Moreover, the "Game of Thrones" season 7 trailer showcases one of the fiercest scenes in the series featuring some of the most favorite characters. Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) are one of the most highly anticipated cast that fans expect to see comes July. Hodor (Kristian Nairn) was also showcased in the latest clip, leading fans to believe that he might also return to the series.
English singer Ed Sheeran is also confirmed to be part of the cast in "Game of Thrones" season 7 but his role remains undisclosed. Meanwhile, all fans naturally have their favorite characters and of course, their hated characters. That said, fans believe that some of the characters in the series should die in the upcoming season.
Cinema Blend believes that these seven characters should die in "Game of Thrones" season 7. These characters include Beric Dondarrion, Ser Gregor Clegane A.K.A. the Mountain, Ser Jorah Mormont, Theon Greyjoy, former maester Qyburn, Melisandre and Jaime Lannister. Do you agree with this?
