There is much concern about "The X-Files" Season 11 especially after Gillian Anderson stated that she believes that there shouldn't be a follow-up to last year's revival. However, fans continue to hope that the series will continue after a possible delay. Could Anderson reunite with David Duchovny sometime next year? Will Fox Mulder and Dana Scully return in "The X-Files" Season 11 in 2019?
There is little doubt that Fox is still hoping for another season of "The X-Files". After all, the series still needs to address what happened to Mulder and Scully in the recent revival, which concluded with the arrival of alien spaceships. But will Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny actually find time to work on "The X-Files" Season 11 despite being busy with their own shows? Both actors might be too busy for a physical appearance anytime soon but Mulder and Scully are still set for more supernatural cases in 2017.
According to Deadline, Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny will reprise their roles as Dana Scully and Fox Mulder this summer. However, it will not be for "The X-Files" Season 11. Anderson and Duchovny have lent their voices to an audio production of the graphic novel "The X-Files: Cold Cases", which follows some of the FBI's possibly supernatural unsolved mysteries.
But when exactly can fans expect "The X-Files" Season 11 air date? CeleBeat has previously reported that Fox might make an announcement about the series when the first 10 seasons of "The X-Files" will be removed from the Netflix lineup this April. Unfortunately, there have been no updates yet and there are speculations that the network is still waiting for Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny's schedules to be less hectic. Anderson will appear in "American Gods" while Duchovny is part of the upcoming "Twin Peaks" revival. Hopefully, Mulder and Scully will be back by late next year or early 2019.
