Harry Styles was listed as one of the top candidates to play the young Han Solo in "Star Wars" spin-off, but he was busy with his singing career at that time. Disney then settled with relatively unknown actor Alden Ehrenreich.
Disney executives believe that Harry Styles has the potential to become a big movie star, even though has no acting experience. For that reason, according to The Sun, they wanted him to play young Han Solo in the upcoming spin-off of the "Star Wars." The movie will focus on the early adventure of Kylo Ren's father.
Unfortunately, Hary Styles declined the opportunity to play in the "Star Wars" spin-off, as he wanted to focus on his solo career as a singer after One Direction went on hiatus in January 2016. He just launched his first single on Friday, April 7 titled "Sign of the Times." The single competed with Ed Sheeran's "Shape Of You" to top the music chart. This Wednesday, he released his solo first album "Harry Styles," consists of 10 tracks and produced by Grammy Award winner Jeff Bhasker.
Nevertheless, Disney still wants him to take some parts in the franchise. The studio plans to give Harry Styles a small role in the next "Star Wars" movie as reported by London Evening Standard. Meanwhile, the 23-year-old now makes his acting debut in the Christopher Nolan new movie "Dunkirk."
Although the movie is not as iconic as "Star Wars" but "Dunkirk" is an epic movie about World War II that re-enact the event after the war in Dunkirk between the Nazi German and Allies in 1940. Harry Styles took a small part in the movie as a soldier who waits for evacuation in the Dunkirk beach after the Allies force was defeated. He played with other renown British actor Tom Hardy.
