Sonequa Martin-Green recently spoke up about Sasha's death in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 finale (via ComicBook). According to the "Star Trek: Discovery" actress, there is no truth in the speculations that her character was killed off to make way for her new TV series. "It was after 'Walking Dead' was already ending that the opportunity for 'Star Trek' came," Martin-Green revealed.
That doesn't mean that Sonequa Martin-Green was confident she would get the role so soon. The former "The Walking Dead" actress admitted she was uncertain about her next job once Sasha gets killed off. "I'm just so grateful to God for it," she said of getting the "Star Trek: Discovery" lead.
Sonequa Martin-Green might not longer be a part of "The Walking Dead" Season 8. However, fans can see more of the actress in "Star Trek: Discovery", which is expected to premiere later this year.
