"Girl Meets World" Season 4 renewal is still uncertain months after Disney Channel announced that the "Boy Meets World" sequel is ending after three seasons. While showrunner Michael Jacobs explained in a previous interview that there are talks to move "GMW" to a different platform, many fans believe that the show may find its new home on Amazon Prime Video.
"Girl Meets World" Season 4 is still trying to find its new home since the show has been cancelled on Disney Channel after airing the Season 3 finale episode entitled "Girl Meets Goodbye." Latest updates about the show's fate on air from Sabrina Carpenter reveal that the fate of the show has not yet been sealed.
In an interview with TVGroove (via Teen Vogue), Carpenter, who played Maya on "GMW," explained that "Girl Meets World" Season 4 is still possible. Carpenter shared that nothing is impossible because "stranger things have happened."
While this does not entirely mean that "Girl Meets World" Season 4 would definitely happen, many fans are optimistic that the show will find a new home. Netflix has already confirmed that they will not be picking up the show from Disney Channel, which leaves viewers to several more options, including Amazon Prime.
Amazon executive Joe Lewis explained during the MipTV panel that the network usually decides which shows and films to air on Prime Video using data, reports Business Insider. According to Lewis, the show should be something interesting enough for people to keep watching through the years.
Many fans believe that "Girl Meets World" Season 4 certainly passes this criteria, especially because it has already proven how much support it has from viewers since its cancellation on Disney Channel. Showrunner Michael Jacobs also stated in an earlier interview with The Wrap that there are ongoing talks to renew the show in another network, but he refused to name which platforms have expressed interest in the show.
