He might play a bloodthirsty Norseman in "Vikings" Season 5 but that doesn't mean that Alex Hogh Andersen is completely heartless. The young actor who plays Ivar the Boneless in the History series has just donated a signed shield from the show to the Danish Red Cross Youth and it is currently up for auction.
Alex Hogh Andersen might be a relative newcomer but he certainly made his mark by playing Ivar the Boneless in "Vikings". The young actor first took on the role in the midseason finale of the fourth season then went on to portray Ragnar Lothbrok's son with amazing ferocity. However, Andersen has proven himself as a good guy in real life. The "Vikings" Season 5 star has decided to donate a shield from the show for a good cause.
Alex Hogh Andersen has posted a photo on Instagram showing the signed shield he had donated for the Danish Red Cross Youth. According to the "Vikings" Season 5 actor, the shield will be up for auction for 2 weeks. Andersen also added that the shield has "survived several successful raids" and may have been a prop on the show for several seasons.

The shield, which is signed by Alex Hogh Andersen, is currently up for bidding on Lauritz. Interested fans can simply sign in to the website to bid on the prized item. Unfortunately, this could mean that Ivar the Boneless will need a new shield on "Vikings" Season 5. However, a new one would seem like a good idea since Ivar will be up against a dangerous new enemy.
There are speculations that Ivar the Boneless will deal with Bishop Heahmund, who was introduced in the previous season finale. Alex Hogh Andersen has previously teased on filming a scene with Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, who plays the sword-wielding bishop. "Vikings" Season 5 is expected to premiere on History this summer.
