A photo of Antonio Banderas and partner Nicole Kimpel has surfaced where the couple is seen holding hands and all smiles for the camera. This is after "The Mask of Zorro" star admitted that he suffered a heart attack following speculations that he's having some health issues. The news came from the actor himself during his speech at the 20th Malaga Film Festival.
Accompanied by his 37-year-old girlfriend, the photo revealed Banderas still looking fantastic at the age of 56. As it seems, the "Desperado" actor is taking it easy and recovering well after confirming his heart condition. However, he also made clear that the heart attack was not serious enough to cause any permanent damage.
As per a report by Comicbook, doctors had to put three stents in Banderas' arteries though the actor claimed that the heart condition was benign and not "dramatic." Additionally, "The Expendables 3" star reportedly said he is now keen to return to work and might need to handle projects at a slower pace to give himself space. Attributing the medical condition to physical stress that he apparently acquired from his 40 years of constant travels between the United States and Spain with demanding schedule, the actor expressed he needs to have breaks in between projects or productions.
It can be recalled that Banderas paid a visit to a Swiss clinic, which reportedly started a health scare. However, his representative announced that he was in "perfectly good health" at that time, BBC reported. Seemingly, there's nothing to worry as the recent pictures of the "Philadelphia" actor revealed that he's happy and well.
Banderas received a lifetime achievement award at the 20th Malaga Film Festival, which recognized his works as an actor, producer and director. The famous Spanish film actor's upcoming movies include a multi-generational love story "Life Itself" from "This Is Us" creator Dan Fogelman, which co-stars Samuel L. Jackson and Oscar Isaac.
