The Academy of Country Music Awards, or ACM Awards, 2017 was held in Las Vegas on Sunday. The show felicitated the most deserving musical artist along with offering complete entertainment to audiences. The award ceremony is one of the most prestigious ones for the artists in the music industry.
The show opened with Luke Bryan is one of the hosts for the evening. He performed on "Huntin', Fishin', and Lovin' Every Day." After making the audience tap their feet on the beat, Bryan introduced co-host, Dierks Bentley. But soon the focus shifted to Blake Shelton as he performed his new song "Came Here to Forget." ACM Entertainer of the Year award went to Jason Aldean.
Actor Tom Hiddleston presented the ACM award to Aldean. "As an Englishman and an actor, I feel very much like a guest tonight but my God, you guys know how to have fun, thank you," Hiddleston said ahead of presenting the award to the winner. According to CBS News, he also expressed that he was honored to play Hank Williams in "I Saw the Light."
The Male Vocalist of the Year award was presented to Thomas Rhett, leaving other nominees like Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Chris Stapleton, and Keith urban behind. While Miranda Lambert won the Female Vocalist of the Year, Brothers Osborne won the Vocal Duo of the Year.
The next on the ACM list of awards was for the Vocal Group of the Year that went to Little Big Town. "The Weight of These Wings" by Miranda Lambert received the award for the best Album of the Year. Where Jon Pardi won the New Male Vocalist of the Year, Maren Morris received the New Female Vocalist of the Year.
"May We All," by Florida Georgia Line feat was honored with the Vocal Event of the Year award whereas "Forever Country" was the Video of the Year. The ACM award for the best Song of the Year was given to "Die a Happy Man," by Thomas Rhett, Forbes mentioned.
