However, a recent rumor claims that actress Caitriona Balfe is quitting filming over her split with co-star and alleged boyfriend, Sam Heughan. What is the real score between the two stars?

Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have been plagued by countless dating rumors because of the undeniable chemistry between the "Outlander" Season 3 stars both on and off screens. A new report suggests that Balfe is close to quitting her role in the Starz time traveler series because of her breakup with alleged boyfriend, Heughan.

The rumor surrounding the "Outlander" Season 3 stars further alleges that Heughan's new girlfriend, MacKenzie Mauzy is the reason behind Balfe's decision to leave the show. However, this appears to be nothing more than a rumor as Balfe and Heughan were not in a relationship to begin with.

As Just Jared Jr. reports, Heughan officially made his public debut with girlfriend Mauzy during the Oscars party in February. The "Outlander" Season 3 actor walked the red carpet with his girlfriend and posed for the cameras during the event.

Both Heughan and Balfe also made it perfectly clear in a previous interview with EW that there was nothing romantic going on between them. The "Outlander" Season 3 actress admitted that she was already getting "tired" of all the talk surrounding their relationship.

"This is our job," she said of the nonstop dating rumors. "We are very different in our private life."

Heughan shared the same sentiments as his "Outlander" Season 3 co-star and said that he feels saddened to see the rumors about them. However, the actor tried to make light of the situation and said that the rumors must mean that the portrayal of their roles is good.
