"Attack on Titan " season 2 production has started last year and is set to air on April 1. One of its highly-anticipated characters such as the Beast Titan has been introduced in season 1, where he can be seen with his eyes peeping through the crack on the Wall Rose. Additionally, there will be more characters to be introduced in season 2 including Sasha and Connie.
"Attack on Titan " season 2 manga creator Hajime Isayama spoke with ANIPLUS Asia, where he revealed that he originally planned reckless endings of the series. However, the anime adaptation of the popular manga series made him change his mind and realized that the series deserves better endings. Isayama also said that he doesn't like some of the scenes in season 1 and would love to change them if only he can.
Isayama further said that it's all because of the anime adaptation that he is enlightened to bring the manga series to a healthier storyline that it deserves. He went on to say that he is having fun working on "Attack on Titan " season 2 and said that the series is his basically his life. Meanwhile, the first trailer revealed that Titans have been doing their best to protect the humans from other Titans. The Beast Titan was also revealed that he can actually talk and interestingly smart, who wants to know about the 3D maneuver gear.
According to Comic Book, the Beast Titan is a shape shifter. He has a secret up his sleeve and that he is actually Zeke Yeager, Eren's half-brother, who is, unfortunately, his enemy. Eren voice actor Yūki Kaji said that the Beast Titan will play an important role in "Attack on Titan " season 2 alongside other new characters coming to the manga series. The Reiss Family, which includes Rod, Freida and Uri will also be introduced in the upcoming season.
"Attack on Titan " season 2 will also introduce Captain Kenny Ackerman, a military police brigade first interior squad member. Ackerman will be involved in the attempted murder of Rod and Uri Reiss. Reports also say that the upcoming season will focus more on Reiss Family.
