Justin Bieber is reportedly going to face a recurring court case when he lands on Brazil for his Purpose Tour. The alleged case against the "Sorry" songster has been reopened by a judge to make the singer pay for the consequences of spray painting graffiti on a hotel in Rio four years ago. The question is, will he get arrested this time or not?
A report by Daily Mail detailed the case that Bieber will face the moment he sets foot on Brazil again. Apparently, justice officials are planning to notify the Canadian pop star of the charges as soon as he arrives in the country. As per a statement released by the Public Prosecution Service in Rio, the "Love Yourself" singer should receive a writ of summons that will be served at the international airport of Rio to make him aware of his impending case.
It seems that the public prosecutors are ensuring that the former YouTube sensation won't be able to leave Brazil without facing the charges for his illegal act back in November 2013. Reportedly, the Brazilian authorities failed to notify Bieber about his alleged "crime against city order and cultural heritage." For this reason, the songwriter was able to leave the country charge-free.
But this time, the "What Do You Mean" songster will surely become aware that spray painting the wall of the £23m Hotel Nacional is an illegal act in Brazil. As mentioned above, it is considered a "crime against city order and cultural heritage" as the hotel is protected as a heritage site. And for that, the judge will purportedly serve the sentence after Bieber finishes his Purpose Tour according to a report by J-14 Magazine.
Bieber's alleged crime is reportedly punishable by a hefty fine or a year in jail. For more updates about your favorite celebrities, stay tuned on Celebeat!
