Tom Holland could be everywhere in the near future. The young actor is set to appear as Peter Parker in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" this year and "Avengers: Infinity War" in 2018. Now it looks like the web slinger will be making an appearance in the recently announced "Venom" standalone film. Does this mean Eddie Brock will need to deal with the new Spider-Man in his own R-rated Sony movie?
Tom Holland recently spoke to Variety about taking on the role of Peter Parker for "Spider-Man: Homecoming" as well as the Marvel Cinematic Universe flicks. The star of "The Lost City of Z" was also asked whether his character will appear in Sony's planned "Venom" standalone film. Although Holland stated that he isn't sure whether his character will appear in Eddie Brock's movie, there was a little bit of hope in his response.
"I haven’t seen any sort of concept art, so that would be something I would decide on when I see material," Tom Holland said. So is it possible that the "Spider-Man: Homecoming" star is sending messages to Sony to send him the script for the "Venom" standalone film? Hopefully, the studio will consider bringing Peter Parker in to face Eddie Brock in the spinoff movie, which is set to be an R-rated feature.
Collider has reported that Sony is aiming to make an R-rated "Venom" standalone film. There is no word yet if the studio's other spinoff flicks (featuring Black Cat and Silver Sable) will get the same rating. Although there have been no updates on who will be cast as Eddie Brock, fans are hoping Tom Holland will swing in to play Peter Parker. "Spider-Man: Homecoming" will premiere on July 7 while the still-untitled Venom movie is scheduled for release on October 5, 2018.
