After welcoming their first baby on Wednesday, former One Direction member Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole, his girlfriend, have not yet settled on a final name for their boy. However, the name Alfie has reportedly been one of the couple’s top choices for their first child.
Opening up about wanting to become a mother, Cheryl told the Daily Mail that she loved the name and had been thinking of choosing it if she had a baby boy. In separate interviews, Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole had previously revealed picking out names for a future child.
While “The X-Factor” judge shared how she had thought about many names, she liked Alfie the most. As for the 23-year-old singer, he told the Hits Radio that he liked the name Taylor. “Taylor's pretty neutral for a boy or a girl. That's what I'm going to call my first child if I had children,” Liam said. Furthermore, the former boyband member joked that he might have acquired the necessary experience in dealing with multiple children. He quipped that spending time with his bandmates felt like having practice with daddy duties.
Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole’s interviews have gone viral online after the couple happily announced that they have welcomed their first child. The 33-year-old mother gave birth to their baby at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital with her boyfriend by her side.
Both Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole took to social media to announce the exciting news. “Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival,” Cheryl added to her caption as she announced the baby news on Instagram over the weekend. 'I'm incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favorite memory I have so far,” Liam wrote as caption for the same photo.
