LeBron James has a very small chance to surpass Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan as the NBA greatest of all time (GOAT). Meanwhile, debate to determine who is entitled to be called the greatest among them is not an easy task.
However, according to radio host at Fox Sports Colin Cowherd, as reported by Charlotte Observer, James has a chance to surpass Michael Jordan as NBA greatest of all time. For that reason, many people are very critical of him and tend to undermine his record. In his tweet last Friday, Cowherd said, "Just admit you're critical of LeBron because you're worried he's better than Michael Jordan."
On the other hand, Dwyane Wade who played with James in Miami Heat for four years said in October las year that James would never surpass Michael Jordan as the NBA greatest of all time. He compared James and Jordan as the two golf players, with Jordan is already in the 18th hole while James is still in the 4th hole.
Another player that James must surpass to be entitled as NBA greatest of all time is Bryant, who surpassed Jordan in the all-time scoring list. Bryant is now listed in the third place with 33,643 points in his 20 years of career, exceeding Jordan's 32,292 points in 19 years. However, "His Airness" Jordan has the higher average of points per game with 30.1, while Bryant has 25.0 points per game.
James is currently ranked in the 8th place with 28 thousand points. The 32-year-old player only averages 27.1 points per game during his 14 years of career. While in regard of the NBA Championship, he needs two more championship rings to match Bryant, and three more to make him equal with Jordan as the NBA greatest of all time.
Winning more championships is very difficult for James in his pursuit to achieve status as NBA greatest of all time. Moreover, this season James said as one of the most challenging seasons in his career as reported by CBS Cleveland. Watch the NBA footage regarding rivalry between James and Bryant below:
