The final days of George Michael have been recounted in a documentary and aired by Channel 5. The film has angered the singer's former Wham bandmate, Andrew Ridgeley who called the show insensitive as the family of the late star is yet to lay his remains to rest.
Ridgeley hit out at the program titled "The Last Days Of George Michael" and called the act of airing the documentary "reprehensible," the Mirror reported. The singer took to his Twitter account to express his disappointment at the piece of journalism, that he considered as "sensationalistic and mucky."
George Michael who passed away on Dec. 25, 2016, was found unresponsive at his house located in Goring-on-Thames. His death was sudden and required a postmortem by the coroner's office in Oxfordshire.
While the coroner's report revealed that he died due to heart disease, the body was not released to his family for two months, the Daily Mail reported. An intimate ceremony has been planned for George Michael's funeral. It is reported he will be laid to rest alongside his mother's grave at Highgate Cemetary in the course of a few days.
While the funeral plans are still unconfirmed, the family of George Michael is engaged in a legal battle between themselves and Fadi Fawaz, the singer's partner. According to reports, the singer's body was discovered at his home by Fawaz.
Since the singer's death, the "Fast Love" songwriter's father and sister have taken a disliking to the former. His family wants nothing to do with him, Fortune reported.
Furthermore, it is reported that Fawaz may not be allowed to attend George Michael's funeral. The ceremony is being organized by the singer's sisters who are hoping to hold it at a small private chapel. Fawaz has claimed that he is being sidelined by the family and that he is being blamed for the singer's death.
