"Black Sails" season 4 episode 8 was aired on March 19 that showed Max (Jessica Parker Kennedy) and Silver (Luke Arnold) chose love over ambition. Flint (Toby Stephens) deemed Silver's decision as the result of mental and emotional weakness. Max's move is contrary to Grandma Guthrie's plan as she wanted to be with Anne (Clara Paget).
As IGN points out, although Max chose not to be the woman behind the man in Nassau, her decision to follow her heart over her survival instincts seems right. The moment between her and Anne during a final run of episodes was certainly awful where nobody was granted with happiness. According to Monsters & Critics, "Black Sails" season 4 episode 8 was expected to be the turning point between Silver and Flint.
"Black Sails" season 4 episode 8 commenced with Woodes Rogers (Luke Roberts) who secretly rode in the night wearing a black coat and a black leather baldric. Rogers exposed himself in what appears to be his hunt for something important. He then entered the room where he found Billy Bones (Tom Hopper) all tied up. It looks like that he was at Flint's old house being consumed by jungle rot little by little.
In "Black Sails" season 4 episode 8, Woodes reminded Billy that their destinies are linked while Avery's journals were found. There were more secrets revealed as Billy warned that the bad blood that has happened with Flint and Gates will also happen with Silver and Flint. "Assume your war begins and spreads throughout the new world," Silver said.
Flint has finally admitted in "Black Sails" season 4 episode 8 that he is not the one to lead a free Nassau. Moreover, Woodes was all prepared to look for the important supply of gems and money as he was getting pushback from his English troops. Mr. Soames (Adam Neill) also cautioned him that he will start a rebellion if he insisted his plans.
