"The Vampire Diaries" finale episode left fans in tears as Stefan Salvatore sacrificed his life to save his brother and the whole of Mystic Falls. However, what "TVD" enthusiasts may not know is that this might not be the end for fan-favorite characters of the show. Apparently, series creator Julie Plec hinted that another "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off could potentially hit production in the future.
As per a report by M Magazine, the supposed second "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off might focus on the life of Caroline Forbes after her husband Stefan died. It can be recalled that she opened up a supernatural boarding school with help of the father of her twins Alaric Saltzman in the final episode of "TVD" where she also received a note from old lover Klaus Mikaelson. Alaric teased that it's the beginning of another story so does this mean that there's a new "TVD-related" series to come?
Apart from that possible hint from "The Vampire Diaries" finale, a report by Bustle also suggested that a new show might possibly get a green light soon. "Alaric Saltzman will be dropping into New Orleans and he'll be bringing with him a piece of information from Mystic Falls that will impact the future of a character on "The Originals" and possible additional opportunities for a new series down the road," Plec told a Bustle reporter. The showrunner specifically mentioned "a new series" so did she just spilled her future plans for another "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off?
"The Vampire Diaries" has given its fans a very long ride but a new series still sounds exciting for long-time viewers of the show who are surely missing the well-loved vampires and witches of Mystic Falls. But readers are advised that it remains a mere speculation for now until Plec finally spreads her plan for the future of "TVD" universe. Needless to say, a new "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off is not far from reality given the wide range of audience the show has attracted.
