While the other moms were fuming mad that Maddie Ziegler got all of Abby Lee Miller's attention, they didn't know that it wasn't all fun for the young dancer as they thought. The 14-year-old "Dance Moms" alum revealed that she was in a lot of pressure at a young age. The star recently revealed that she is now ready to put the hit Lifetime reality television series behind her for good.
It's no secret that Abby Lee Miller considers Maddie Ziegler as her star dancer in the Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC) Junior Elite Competition Team. Since the famously tough dance teacher believe that she can always count on the "Chandelier" star to nab first place, the 50-year-old choreographer, dance instructor and director let her compete almost every week at the time.
Maddie Ziegler rose to fame as a part of the original cast of "Dance Moms." Being the show's resident dance teacher, Abby Lee Miller's favorite student, the "Ballerina" actress got more opportunities and attention but it was just too much for her to handle. The young dancer revealed that she is definitely done with competitions and that she is ready to move on from the Lifetime show.
"I'm really glad that I've moved on from that," Maddie Ziegler shared to People. "I was stressed at 11 years old, which should't happen." The star then added that she's a lot happier now because she's not feeling all the stress of the weekly dance competitions.
When asked if she will ever consider reuniting with Abby Lee Miller and her former ALDC Junior Elite Competition Team mates, Maddie Ziegler shook her head and firmly said, "I don't think so. I'm done with competing." The pressure must have been too much for the "Ballerina" star as she reiterated that she is so glad to not be doing competitions anymore because it was too stressful for her.
