"Rick and Morty" fans are dying to see the animated science fiction sitcom in the small screens again and they were hyped in the past few months that it will make a comeback this month. However, fans were all disappointed with earlier news that it is certainly not happening just yet as its creator has previously announced that he doesn't have the show's release date yet.
"I'm so sorry. I don't have a release date for season three. It's not that I know it and I'm not allowed to say it; it's [Adult Swim's] domain. What I will tell you is it's late because of us, it's late because of me," "Rick and Morty" co-creator Dan Harmon said. He further explained (via Paste Magazine) with an amusing tone that they have fights at all times and even fighting why they always fight referring to his co-creator Justin Roiland. Okay, that's cute!
On the plus side, reports say that after the long hiatus of "Rick and Morty," there are now at least three things in development for the sitcom to ensure that it will finally return to make fans happy once again. The showrunners revealed that the sitcom will have 14 episodes for season 3, which means that fans can expect an official release date announcement in the near future.
Additionally, Dan Harmon recently told Den of Geek that they hired new writers with gender equity being balanced explaining that what's important about gender in the writers' room is balance and not representation. The good thing in this show though, is that the creators admit their mistakes as to why "Rick and Morty" season 3 is taking a lot of time to finally get a release date and shares the same desires with fans to see the sitcom again.
"Rick and Morty" follows the story of the misadventures of a cynical mad scientist Rick with is nervous and easily swayed grandson Morty. Together, the two divides their time between domestic family life and interdimensional journeys.
