It's no secret that Maddie Ziegler was Abby Lee Miller's favorite student and member of the Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC) Junior Elite Competition Team. While the other moms demanded fair treatment, they didn't know that it wasn't all rainbows and butterflies for the young star being the teacher's favorite.
Although the mega-successful "Chandelier" music video of Sia made Maddie Ziegler a star, everybody knows that the young dancer started her career in "Dance Moms." Now, the "Ballerina" actress revealed that she is definitely much happier now that she has left the hit Lifetime show.
In a recent interview with People, Maddie Ziegler was asked about how it was like being a part of "Dance Moms" and having Abby Lee Miller as her mentor at the time. The 14-year-old dancer, actress, and model was shockingly honest about being relieved for leaving the Lifetime show.
"I'm really glad that I've moved on from that," Maddie Ziegler shared. "I did learn a lot from her [Abby] and we did have like some fun times but I feel like now I've never been happier in my life." Being Abby Lee Miller's star student, Maddie Ziegler was always pressured to nab the top prize during competitions. Now that she's finally out of that scene, the "Dance Moms" alum shared that the pressure was certainly too much for her young self to handle. "I was stressed at 11 years old, which shouldn't happen," the teen added.
Meanwhile, despite reports that Abby Lee Miller's jail time will result to "Dance Moms" being cancelled, the Lifetime show proved that it still has some gas left on its tank. With fan favorite Chloe Lukasiak returning to the show, "Dance Moms" finally got the hype it needed after Maddie Ziegler left to focus on her individual career.
