After Robert Downey Jr. confirmed on the Ellen DeGeneres show that "Iron Man 4" is happening, nothing much was said about the Marvel superhero film. With the lack of updates, whispers and speculations regarding the plans and cancellation of the fourth installment have been making its rounds on the Internet.
It was previously reported that Robert Downey Jr. is set to reprise his role in "Sherlock Holmes 3." If that is indeed happening, then the 51-year-old actor will have to stretch out his schedule to make time and become Tony Stark once again in "Iron Man 4."
It is definitely not quick and easy to make a movie. It takes a lot of time and money to make it possible. Filmmakers have to consider the time for casting, shooting, editing, etc. Some even underwent workshops to help the actors connect to their characters. So if Marvel Studios is still not even in the first stage of developing "Iron Man 4," then there's a high chance that fans will not be seeing this much-awaited film on the big screen anytime soon.
Seeing Robert Downey Jr. in his famous red metal suit again will definitely feel amazing, but since "Iron Man 4" has not been talked about anymore is worrying a lot of Marvel fans. In fact, when Marvel Studios has released their Phase 3 lineup, "Iron Man 4" was nowhere to be found.
However, hopeful fans are still trying to be optimistic and still see "Iron Man 4" launching in the big screen sooner or later. What keeps the fans positive are the three unnamed Marvel movies slated to release in 2020. Since Robert Downey Jr. already confirmed the existence of "Iron Man 4," it only makes sense that the fourth installment of the solo film of the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist is going to be one of the unlisted films.
