20th Century Fox may have decided the actor who will play Cable, in the second installment of the franchise "Deadpool 2." Actor David Harbour is reported to have done a screen test for the role.
Harbour played chief of Hawkins Police Department in the Netflix horror-science fiction series "Stranger Things." According to The Wrap, a source from 20th Century Fox informed that he has done screen-testing for the role of Cable for the movie "Deadpool 2."
"Deadpool" that was released in 2016 has been the most successful film in the X-Men franchise. It grossed total $783.1 million worldwide, with $363.1 million in North America, ranked number nine for the highest grossing movie in 2016. Following the success of the first movie, 20th Century Fox planned to produce the second installment "Deadpool 2."
Director David Leitch, the co-director of "John Wick " the franchise, is reported to replace Tim Miller as the director according to Game Spot. Miller resigned from his position as the director of "Deadpool 2" after having creative differences with Ryan Reynolds.
Screenwriter Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are assigned to write the movie "Deadpool 2." The movie will revolve around the next adventure of Wade Wilson aka Deadpool and his encounter with the new friends and foes.
In the storyline of the "Deadpool 2" movie, Deadpool will meet Cable, whose real name is Nathan Summer, a mutant from the future. Cable is the son of X-Men member Cyclops and Madeline Pryor, the clone of Jean Grey. Nathan Summer was transported to the future when he was a baby and grew up to be a warrior and returned to the present time.
