Kate Hudson has the answer to girls' weight woes everywhere -- the Alkaline diet. The actress swears by it, especially when award seasons are coming up.
According to the 36-year-old actress, she remains in tip-top shape because she does not eat a lot of food enjoyed by people every day: meat, dairy and gluten. She even stays away from sugar.
This is why she stunned everyone at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, wearing a two-piece Michael Kors outfit in coral. Her rock-hard abs were visible for everyone to see, among other muscles. She did not even hide how she achieved that body, which is what other actresses will do if asked.
Hudson said the alkaline diet works for her. The diet focuses mainly on having balanced pH levels and acidity. Talking with People magazine, the actress shared that she is very strict about following the diet's regimen.
"I live by a rule book of eating alkaline--no meat, no dairy, no gluten (and) I try to stay away from sugar--but I'll cheat when I want to, since I'm a bit of a foodie," she shared. She added that she does not think of it as dieting. Instead, she wants to think she is having everything "in moderation."
As a cofounder of the active wear brand called Fabletics, she has every reason to want to stay slim and fit. She said she is especially wary and conscious whenever the award season rolls around. On such days, she always keeps in mind what she is going to wear and plans her workouts accordingly.
Hudson was not always in such a good shape, with abs to show for it. After giving birth to her second son, Bing, in July 2011, she had to work really hard to lose significant amount of pounds. In 2013, when she already lost 70 pounds, she told Shape magazine that she mainly exercised to feel and look great. "There's no way a woman gets up to work out at 6:30 a.m. just for the mood boost. She wants to fit into her jeans and look fantastic too," she said.
