Opposites Attract: Brazil's Tallest Man Joelison Fernandes da Silva Loves a Woman 3 Feet Shorter!

Meet Joelison Fernandes da Silva who is recorded as being Brazil's tallest man. At 7 Foot and 8 Inches, is also among one of the tallest men in the world, in fact the third tallest. He has found the love of his life, who is a staggering 3 feet shorter than him.

Being tall is everyman's dream and desire. But not according to Joelison Silva, who wishes he was not this tall. He was constantly bullied and his confidence and image took a beating growing up as a teen. This was pushed to such an extreme that he had had to drop out of school after he felt he couldn't fight back for long and kept himself self exiled and devoid of all social connections, as her did not want to have conversations with anybody.

Joelison da Silva tells Barcroft TV that he used to consider himself as abnormal. In fact it was an abnormal tumor that was benign in his pituitary gland that was causing these problems for him that resulted in such abnormal growth. Joelison had this tumor finally removed close to seven years back through a surgery.  

Joelison met his wife Evem Mediros online on a social networking site. He claims it to be love at first sight when they physically met for the first time. Evem Mediros, who is only 5 Feet tall, recollects that her father was shocked when learning about Joelison.

Ever since the couple have been married, they feel that their lives have been much like the lives of any other couple. They share the same happiness and their share of issues on a daily basis, including trying to have a child.

Joelison is however more concerned on the socially awkward conversations that they encounter with other couples that meet them for the first time. He says they are no different than anyone else.
