Puppy without a Paw Gifted to a Toddler Without Feet; Toddler Sapphyre Johnson is Overjoyed

Karen Riddle's German shepherd gave birth to a cute puppy who has a paw missing, making the owner firmly believe that the pup was really special. The pup, Dan, has been donated to a toddler named Sapphyre Johnson, who was born without feet.

She seems really happy and chirpy about her new puppy pal. Her dad has remarked that it is very difficult for children at a tender age of 3 to deal with things like limb loss, and that when everyone around seems so happy and healthy. The addition of this pup has been a blessing for the entire family, said the toddler's beaming father Matthew Johnson.

When the pup was born, everyone recommended Karen to let it go; but she knew that she had to find a special home for the special dog, states WLTX. She gave a call to Shriners Hospital and enquired if the pup can find a home there. Incidentally, Sapphyre had been a former patient at that hospital when she was just 3 months old.

Her mom also explained why her toddle has lost her feet. According to her, the doctors had already informed them that she might be missing some toes and finger, through an ultrasound when she was 7 months pregnant, states ABC News. She just had two long toes which were also amputated for the better use and fit of prosthetics.

So when the orthopedics saw Dan's photo, they instantly knew the perfect home for the pup. The puppy will be a really good support system for Sapphyre and she will be able to understand her deformity in a better and gentle way. Her parents are ever thankful to Karen Riddle and her thoughtfulness.
