Netflix has just released yet another TV spot, the second for today, for Marvel's Daredevil, the series developed for the cable TV network by Drew Goddard, which is set to air all 13 episodes on April 10, according to Comic Book Resources. While the first teaser focused on Daredevil's status as the "first Defender," this newer one hones in on the Man Without Fear's special abilities. "You're blind but you see so much," says the female voice in the 30-second clip that features Daredevil in action against the bad guys.
Marvel's Daredevil is the first of four new superhero shows that Netflix has line up for production, including Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. All four characters will then come together to form The Defenders in another new and separate mini-series. After Marvel's Daredevil is aired this April 10, Netflix will next be releasing AKA Jessica Jones in fall 2015, Luke Cage in 2016, with Iron Fist likely to follow later that same year, building up to the four superheroes teaming up together for The Defenders miniseries.
Marvel's Daredevil, now billed as "the first Defender," follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell's Kitchen, New York City. The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios, with Steven S. DeKnight serving as showrunner, and Drew Goddard, who created the comic book characters, acting as consultant.
The show stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll as Matt's romantic interest Karen Page, Elden Henson as Matt's close friend and law partner Foggy Nelson, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Ayelet Zurer as Kingpin's love interest Vanessa Marianna, Bob Gunton as Leland Owlsley, Toby Leonard Moore as Kingpin's right-hand man Wesley, and Vondie Curtis-Hall as the journalist Ben Urich. The newest addition to the show are: Rob Morgan as play Turk Barrett, a small-time criminal in Hell's Kitchen; Matt Gerald as Melvin Potter, a machinist caught between a rock and a hard place; Peter Shinkoda as Nobu, a Japanese businessman with an agenda all his own; Wai Ching Ho as Madame Gao, a powerful woman running her own trade; and Nikolai Nikolaeff and Gideon Emery as Vladimir and Anatoly, two Russian brothers looking to forge new names for themselves in America.
