Kellan Lutz, 30, best known for his role as the vampire Emmett Cullen in The Twilight Saga film series, will be hosting Fox's new unscripted reality-TV series Bullseye, described as a show that will task four men and four women "to test their bodies and brains in three ultimate challenges that ask nothing more than for them to hit the Bullseye-literally," with the comedian Godfrey serving as his co-host. Whoever gets to hit the most number of bullseye walks away with a $50,000 prize.
In the first challenge, the eight competitors will try to hit the center of a stationary target while leaping from a moving 18-wheeler, being pulled by a helicopter or acting as a human slingshot being projected hundreds of feet through the air. From there, the challenges progressively get much harder.
Lutz in a statement to the press said: "I am a huge fan of extreme sports, and for me, nothing beats an adrenaline rush, which is why I am so excited to host this series. I love the concept of physicality and strategy combined with the most awesome challenges that will blow your mind. I am looking forward to watching these competitors push themselves out of their comfort zones and I'll be on the sidelines cheering them on."
The hour-long show is set to premiere Wednesday, May 27 at 9:00 pm ET/PT.
Bullseye will have Jon Kroll and Scott Larsen serving as executive producers, with Kevin Wehrenberg, J. Rupert Thompson and Shye Sutherland as co-executive producers.
Lutz's most recent appearances on the big screen include last year's The Legend of Hercules where he played the title role and The Expendables 3 where he was cast as John Smilee. He also portrayed the William Shatner character in the biographical drama film Experimenter written and directed by Michael Almereyda which follows the true story of famed social psychologist Stanley Milgram and which was premiered at the last Sundance Film Festival.
